At Picco, every dish tells a story. The **pizza selection** is where their culinary artistry shines. Don't miss the Contadino Pizza, a meticulously crafted masterpiece featuring mozzarella, tomatoes, red onions, peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, goat cheese, and olives—each ingredient harmonizing beautifully at just £7.50. For those with a penchant for indulgence, the **Picco Special Pizza** (£7.00) offers a delightful combo of mozzarella, smoked prosciutto, wild rocket, and parmesan, elevating your pizza experience to new heights.
- San Remo Pizza: For the seafood lovers, this option is a must-try, combining olives, anchovies, capers, and a kick of red chili for just £7.00.
- Parmesan Chips: Served at £3.65, these crispy delights topped with grated parmesan are the perfect sidekick to your meal.
The starters are equally enticing, featuring options like Meatball Mariana for £5.50, and the refreshing Goats Cheese Bruschetta that pairs roasted peppers and cherry tomatoes with fragrant basil. Each starter is intended to complement the main dishes and enhance your dining experience.
While the cuisine holds the spotlight, the service at Picco has received mixed reviews. Guest feedback spans from praises of exceptional menu offerings to criticisms regarding service consistency. It's clear that while the passion for food drives the team, maintaining that same energy in service can make all the difference.
Drinks are thoughtfully curated as well, with Italian classics like Sanpellegrino Lemon and Pomegranate available for £3.00 a 330ml can, adding a refreshing touch to your meal.
Diners like Scott Morland highlight the charming atmosphere and the value of the midweek deals—meals, puddings, and a bottle of wine for under £20 ensure an enticing reason to return. Yet, not every visitor shares this enthusiasm, illustrating the nuanced experience that Picco Bar & Pizzeria offers.
In conclusion, Picco Bar & Pizzeria presents a unique invitation to explore traditional Italian flavors, with both triumphs and challenges reflected in the guest experiences. If you're in the area, it's certainly worth a visit to savor the taste of Italy in the heart of Darlington.

Dined in here twice recently and absolutely love it. A small but beautiful atmospheric venue.Ordered a calzone and a pizza on both occasions. The Calzone texture was amazing and the mixtures of fillings beautiful. The wed night deal of meals, puddings and a bottle for less thank £ is truly great value. My old workplace used to swear by here as their regular and I can see why.The chef always looks busy and it truly is an art form watching him stretch out the dough!Love it and will be back!

Food was really nice, however service was not good. I had booked this for an anniversary meal, requested a bottle of sparkling rose wine on the table, but when we entered I gave details and was just told to choose any table for . There were only other tables occupied at the time, an elderly gentleman came in while we were there and a couple of take out customers. We had to ask for a dessert menu as we seemed to be ignored more and more, the delivery guys from whatever app they use got more conversation from the staff than we did. Very disappointed in the service despite the food being great.

The guy behind the bar I’m assuming the owner thinks he is the best pizza maker this side of Naples ! He is by a long way not! Crust was rock hard had no flavour. Scrimped on toppings , I had the Parma ham large pizza and it had . slices of Parma ham on it . Tomato base sauce tasted like it was days old! Asked to move tables as some of the party did not turn up and he was stroppy! Probably why we got poor pizzas. Really bad experience if you want authentic pizzas that actually has flavour go to stable hearth just a stones throw away! There was of us in the party and the total bill was £ and the restaurant took it apon themselves to add £ service charge ! That’s over % I’m sure these guys went to clown school and not culinary school! of the mains came out after everyone had pretty much finished their meals!Stay well clear of this place! It’s a joke!
